RULES & REGULATIONS EAPM 2023 SYMPOSIUM SUBMISSION

Call for proposals of symposia to be held during the 2023 EAPM Conference on 15-17 June 2023 in Wroclaw, Poland.
Theme: Looking across the bridge. Dialogues between professionals.
Symposia proposals submission deadline: 31.01.2023
Decisions will be made by mid March.
Symposia proposals need to be submitted through the online submission form.
Proposals submitted via e-mail or incomplete submissions will not be considered.

Rules, regulations & guidelines (please read carefully before submitting your proposal)
  • Symposia should deal with research topics from the list provided.
  • Symposia should reflect cohesion among presentations, the relevance of presentations to the topic, and the expression of different views and focus on broader themes than a single oral presentation.
  • Symposia often benefit from a diversity of perspectives and institutional affiliations. Proposals from young investigators are encouraged.
  • Symposia that include multiple presentations from the same set of authors will receive lower priority for acceptance than symposia that include presentations from different research groups, however will still be considered.
  • The symposium organizer and/or speakers are not required to be EAPM members.
  • All speakers are required to register for the conference. Submitting a symposium proposal and/or speaking in a symposium does not limit you from submitting an individual abstract for an e-poster presentation at the EAPM conference.
  • The symposium leader must ensure that all speakers are committed to participating in the symposium before submitting a proposal.
  • Proposals will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee using a variety of criteria including scientific merit, theoretical or methodological innovativeness, compatibility with the regular program, and diversity of the speakers.
Symposium submission
  • The duration of a symposium is 75 minutes and should contain 4-6 individual talks (it is possible to change the number of the talks, please contact us if necessary to discuss further), and at the end of the symposium a general discussion of 10-15 minutes.
  • The Symposium leader (one person) should submit the overall symposium proposal: synopsis, names of individual presenting authors and tentative title of the talks.
  • Proposals need to be submitted through the corresponding submission form published on the Conference website.
  • Symposium proposals will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee. After the review, the organizer (contact person) will receive information about the Committee’s decision via email. synopsis, names of individual presenting authors. Individual abstracts of accepted symposia will be requested to the speakers at a later stage.
Symposium proposals should include:
  • Title
  • Synopsis (Symposium abstract): a short description of the symposia. Maximum 250 words. In that abstract you should talk about:
    • Topic: describe the topic of your presentation. What you are planning to do? How does the topic complement the conference theme?
    • Interest: why would this topic be of interest to conference attendees?
    • The symposium leader’s background: a short description of the submitting author’s background and experience in the topic (with up to three references to published articles relevant to the proposed talk).
    • Takeaways: be explicit about what the audience will be able to take home from your presentation/symposium.
  • Speakers and tentative title of the proposed talks
Reimbursements, registration fees & travel costs
Please note that there are no funds available to cover any costs, such as honorarium, registration, travel, and accommodation. When submitting the symposium proposal, you automatically state/agree that all presenters on the proposal register and attend the EAPM 2023 conference in case the symposium should be accepted.
Additional information
The scientific committee may add a presentation that has been submitted as an oral presentation and that fits the topic of the symposium. In such a case, the chair of the submitted symposium is contacted and informed by the scientific committee of the conference you will be asked to indicate whether the abstract has been previously published and/or presented at a conference (this will not necessarily be used as grounds for acceptance/rejection).
