RULES & REGULATIONS EAPM 2023 E-POSTER SUBMISSION

Call for e-poster abstracts to be presented during the 2023 EAPM Conferenceon 15-17 June 2023 in Wroclaw, Poland.
Theme: Looking across the bridge. Dialogues between professionals.
Submission of an abstract is only possible via the online submission system at https://eapm-conference.org.
Abstracts submitted via e-mail or incomplete submissions will not be considered.
Abstract deadline: 31.01.2023
Decisions will be made by 28.02.2023.
Rules, regulations & guidelines (please read carefully before submitting your proposal)
  • Abstracts should deal with research topics from the list provided.
  • The author of the abstract is not required to be an EAPM member.
  • The author of the abstract is required to register for the meeting. Submitting an abstract for an e-poster presentation does not limit you from submitting a proposal and/or speaking in a symposium at the EAPM conference.
  • Abstracts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee using a variety of criteria including scientific merit, theoretical or methodological innovativeness, and compatibility with the regular program
How to submit the abstract for the e-poster?

Via the online submission system:

  • Access the corresponding submission form through the Conference website.
  • Fill out the application form.
  • Your abstract will be reviewed by the Committee.
  • After the review, you will receive information about the Committee’s decision and your abstract number via email.
Abstract format
  • The abstract should be submitted in English.
  • Format:
    Names and institutions of all authors
    Title: provide a short clear title reflecting the content of the abstract. Use generic names only, no commercial names.
    Abstract text: maximum 250 words excluding title, authors, and affiliations, including references.
  • The following items have to be covered in the abstract text:
    Aims: describe research background, the working definition and/or hypothesis.
    Methods: applied methods, including the number of patients.
    Results: please present a summary of the most important results based on sufficient quantitative and statistical data.
    Conclusion: please present a conclusion based on the results.
    Reference(s): Please do NOT include a list of references at the end of your abstract.
    Please note: it’s not possible to include images/tables/figures in your abstract
  • All abbreviations have to be written in full text and explained upon first use.
  • Previous publication/presentation: you will be asked to indicate whether the abstract has been previously published and/or presented at a conference (this will not necessarily be used as grounds for acceptance/rejection).
If your abstract is accepted for the e-poster, you will be requested to upload your e-poster via the online submission system. Guidelines for that will be provided at a later stage.
***Please note, that if your work is not accepted for an oral presentation in a symposium, you may be asked to consider it for an e-poster presentation.
Poster session
  • From the submitted abstracts only a selected number will be requested to present the e-poster during the poster session. The e-posters not selected for oral presentation will be displayed on the screen during the whole conference.
  • During the conference, there are two poster sessions. The duration of a session is 45-60 minutes. If selected to present, an individual presentation should take roughly 4 minutes: 2 minutes for main results + 2 minutes for discussion (individual questions, comments, and feedback).
  • The e-poster is a poster presented as a PDF on a +50-inch screen computer during the poster Session.
  • The stands will be distributed for each screen in the congress exhibition area.
  • By using common techniques such as “pinch to zoom” e-poster authors are able to present different parts of the e-poster in more detail.
  • E-posters will be grouped by the topic, each screen will be assigned to a given topic. Each author will be informed as to which topic (screen) he/she is assigned. The authors selected to present their e-poster should be present beforehand at the screen for a short presentation of the main results during the poster session.
  • Besides being displayed onsite during the conference, all e-posters will be made available for viewing on the conference website up to one month after the conference, if authorised by the presenting author on the application form.
  • The e-posters can be searched by poster number, title, session, or author name.
Poster prize

The poster prize will be chosen from e-posters selected for a presentation during the poster sessions. Eligibility will expire if the author is not present at the poster session. Criteria for the poster prize are:

  • Relevance of subject for the field of psychosomatic medicine
  • Highest scientific soundness of methods
  • Originality and novelty
  • Presentation on e-poster (design, structure, clarity, layout)
  • Oral presentation at the e-poster session
Publication of abstracts in the Journal of Psychosomatic Research (JPR)

All abstracts accepted for the conference will be published on the conference website. In addition, abstracts may meet the higher standard for publication in the Journal of Psychosomatic Research. The decision/selection of abstracts to be published in the JPR is made based on the regulations of the JPR.

Reimbursements, registration fees & travel costs

Please note that there are no funds available to cover any costs, such as honorarium, registration, travel, and accommodation. When submitting the e-poster, you automatically state/agree that all presenters on the proposal register and attend the EAPM 2023 conference in case the abstract should be accepted.

Additional information

The scientific committee may add a presentation that has been submitted as a symposium abstract. In such a case, the chair of the submitted symposium is contacted and informed by the scientific committee of the conference.
